Chapter Checklist

• Draft preliminary chapter bylaws, particularly membership criteria
• Publish membership criteria school-wide
• Set membership application deadline
• Review membership applications with your faculty advisory board
• Select and notify new members
• Schedule induction ceremony date
• Enter names of new members in NEHS Connect
• Pay one-time membership fee of $15 per new member
• Order NEHS pins (optional) for induction ceremony
• Plan induction ceremony (invite parents, administrators, speakers, order refreshments, check certificates sent by Central Office)
• Hold induction ceremony
• Develop officer job descriptions with chapter members
• Hold officer elections
• Develop meeting schedule with attendance expectations
• Review and update chapter bylaws with help of officers and chapter members
• Craft NEHS projects with chapter members
