Outstanding Chapter Awards
For 2011-2012
Complete the application only if you are applying for an Outstanding NEHS Chapter Award. Electronically submit one application packet, including separate pages for chapter information and the chapter narrative of activities; include photos of chapter activities as well to enhance the application. These documents will be forwarded to members of the NEHS Advisory Council, who will collectively select the award-winning chapter.
The award recipient chapter will receive a check for $250 and a plaque. No chapter may receive an Outstanding Chapter Award in consecutive years.
Although is it probably best to complete the application by the end of this academic year, while memories of the chapter's accomplishments are still fresh, the Outstanding Chapter Awards Committee will accept applications postmarked for the award no later than September 15, 2012 for the 2011-2012 awards. This deadline will also allow for the full documentation of end-of-the-school-year activities.
Decisions by the committee will be announced by October 15, 2012. Submit applications to dwendelin@niu.edu with "Outstanding Chapter Award" in the subject line.
Include the following:
- The information included on the application
- Supporting narrative of projects, activities, and accomplishments, maximum of three double-spaced pages in a Word document
- Supporting documentation (news stories, photos, scanned letters of support, thank you notes, or program flyers)
- NOTE: All NEHS chapters are required to submit an end-of-year report, which will be sent to advisors via Survey Monkey in May. Failure to submit this report will disqualify any application for Outstanding Chapter.
